Review of the Toggi Quest Riding Boot

Toggi Quest Riding Boot

Cost £143.95

Tried & tested by our Marketing Assistant Liz, here's her review of the Toggi Quest Riding Boots.

Toggi Quest Riding BootWho/what is it for?

A tall ladies riding boot with a country look, making them ideal for both in and out of the saddle. If you’re like me and struggle finding time to switch between boots, these are robust enough for trips to the field too.

Initial thoughts on the product

Having used my Toggi Calgary Boots for the past 10 years, I was excited to put Toggi through their paces and give another style of boot a try.

Being 5’2 and with wide calves I find it a real struggle to find tall riding boots that fit well.  However, I‘ve always found Toggi boots comfortable - especially the Toggi Calgary Boots as they are elasticated. The Toggi Quest Boots also feature an elasticated panel which made getting the zip up nice and easy, even with chunky calves. I really like the stylish zip located on the side of the boot too.

Likes

The sole on the boots is very thick and sturdy making them suitable for all terrain. My time at the yard is limited due to having a little one at home, and I don’t have time to swap boots in between riding and doing the usual jobs like mucking out, poo picking and journeys to and from the field.

These boots are smart enough to look elegant whilst in the saddle, but durable enough to do all your daily chores too. I am yet to see them through a winter so will report back to see how they fair through the wetter months. Watch this space!

Dislikes

The only disadvantage that I found was the leather took a long time to break in. Anyone that has bought long riding boots can relate to the pain, I am sure! At our yard, the field is a good 10-minute walk from the school and stable area, so I developed some big blisters on the back of my heels even whilst wearing thick socks.

I also developed sores just behind my knees when I first rode, but as the leather has softened now and this is no longer an issue. Two months in and they are almost as comfortable as my Calgary boots… but not quite!

Would you recommend the product?

Absolutely, I would recommend to anyone looking for a hybrid riding and country boot. Would just advise to take time breaking them in before walking long distance.

Would you continue to use the product?

Yes, these are boots that I use daily and have high hopes that will last as well as my previous Toggi Calgary Boots

Is the price point fair?

I think the pricing is fair based on how versatile the boots are.
