I use them once or twice a week on two to three sets of tack - there's no excuse not to with how easy they are!
Have you noticed any long-term effects on your tack?
Absolutely! My tack doesn’t get as damp as it used to with traditional cleaning methods. Plus, because I clean more often now, my tack is lasting much longer. The wipes are mess-free, and using them regularly allows me to inspect my tack more frequently, which is always a good thing.
Tips for getting the most out of a single wipe:

I originally thought I’d go through wipes quickly, but that’s not the case! The wipes are large, pre-soaked with cleaner, and come in a resealable packet. You can use both sides and even turn them inside out - maximising every wipe. A pack of 10 wipes lasts me three months or more, and that’s cleaning three sets of tack twice a week!

What do you use Protection Plus for most?

How do you use Flyguard Extra during peak fly season?
Simple! I spray the Flyguard Extra Strength Insect Repellent liberally in the morning and don’t have to worry about flies until my early evening check. The flies are particularly bad in my area, but this product truly works. I avoid spraying near their faces and instead use the Flyguard Extra Gel for sensitive areas.

How does it compare to other fly sprays?
Other brands don’t even come close. I’ve tried seven or eight other sprays, and within a couple of hours, the flies were back in full force. Flyguard Extra contains DEET at the optimal 20% level, and it really shows - my horses stay comfortable and protected all day.

Do you prefer using it diluted or neat?
I mostly use it diluted for hot clothing after a groom or clip, or to cool down muscles post-ride. It cuts through grease and grime brilliantly and soothes achy muscles - my horses love it! In cold weather, I use it neat as a muscle rub before riding to help warm up their backs.
Tips for preventing dryness or flaky residue on hairy legs:
It’s important to apply it to clean legs. Any flaky residue brushes off easily with a soft brush - a small trade-off for how well it works!
Step by step guide for hot clothing with Lavender Liniment:

Fill a clean bucket with hot water and a splash of Lavender Liniment.

Prepare another bucket of plain water for rinsing.

Once cool enough to handle, soak a clean cloth, then wring it out until damp but not dripping.

Use long, even strokes on your horse’s neck, body, and legs to lift dirt and grease. Top tip: Circular motions lift grease more effectively!

Repeat until satisfied. (For hot weather, use cold water instead to avoid overheating!)
