Review of the LeMieux Trax Trainers

LeMieux Trax Trainers

Cost £99.95

Tried & tested by our Product Manager Jess, here's her review of the LeMieux Trax Trainers.

Trax TrainersWho/what is it for?

I wanted a pair of trainers that I could wear both to work and use for outdoor activities.

Initial thoughts on the product

When I first saw these trainers, I fell in love with them. I needed a pair of waterproof trainers in my life; especially with a little one who is obsessed with puddles and mud.

When I first tried them on, the sizing came up small, so I had to go for the larger size, which turned out to be a little too big for me, but more comfortable than too small. It took me some time to adapt to the fit, but once I did, the comfort was undeniable.

I have really put these trainers through their paces, and they have held up impressively well.

Likes

The combination of a waterproof lining and water-repellent upper fabric kept my feet dry all day whilst out in the rain. The Michelin rubber sole made me feel stable and secure on slippery terrain. When testing on an extremely muddy surface I was impressed that the sole did not pick up excessive mud and grit.

After a day of keeping my feet dry and getting them covered in mud, I wanted to give them a good clean. Considering these are white they cleaned up well and looked like new again.

Dislikes

My main dislike is the sizing of these trainers. I found my normal shoe size did not fit and I had to go up a size which was then a little too big. To tackle the sizing issue, I simply wear thicker socks and have the laces tied up tight. I like to be able to slip on my trainers quickly and not to have to faff-around with tying laces, so this can be frustrating at times.

Would you recommend the product?

Yes and no – Yes because they are waterproof, and I have really tested for that. I splashed around in muddy puddles with my son and have hosed them off and they have remained dry inside.

No, because personally I found the sizing to be off. It took me over a week to get used to the size however, this could be a sizing issue for me and not for others. What I would say is, if you are unsure on which size to choose or often can be in-between sizes, then size up.

Would you continue to use the product?

Yes, I will continue to use the trainers as I have tackled the issue with the fit of them now. They are ideal for the in-between weather when wellies aren’t quite needed yet.

Is the price point fair?

It really depends on budget, but personally I do think they are slightly overpriced as you can get a non equestrian brand for cheaper. But for those that are brand conscious, the price point sits fairly against other similar competitive products.

Was it comfortable/warm/waterproof – etc?

Overall, I have found these trainers to be very comfortable and waterproof whilst stylish and on trend.
