Ariat Skyline Boot Review: Tried & Tested in the Countryside

Review of the Ariat Skyline Walking Boots

If you're looking for a waterproof walking boot that can handle everything from muddy dog walks to family days outdoors, the Ariat Skyline Boot is likely already on your shortlist.

To find out whether they're worth the investment, our Head of Marketing Sophie put them to the test in real-world conditions. Here's her honest verdict.

Ariat Skyline Boot Review: The Questions Everyone Wants Answered

Who are the Ariat Skyline Boots designed for?

For me, these boots are all about walking and spending time outdoors.

Whether that's countryside walks, farm visits, supporting family members on cold sports fields or simply being out and about in typical British weather, they're designed for people who spend a lot of time on their feet outdoors.

I can also see them working well for horse owners who want a practical waterproof boot for yard duties that still looks smart enough for everyday wear.

What were your first impressions of the Ariat Skyline Boot?

My first thought was that they looked exactly how a quality walking boot should.

They feel robust without being bulky and the finish immediately gives the impression of a well-made product. The materials feel premium and the styling is practical without looking overly technical.

They're also easy on the eye, which matters when you're wearing them regularly.

Were the Ariat Skyline Boots comfortable straight away?

Yes, and this was probably the biggest surprise.

Many walking boots need a break-in period, especially if you're planning longer walks. These didn't.

From the first wear they felt comfortable, supportive and secure. There was no rubbing, stiffness or discomfort which made them easy to trust straight away.

For anyone who's suffered through breaking in new walking boots before, that's a huge plus.

How did they perform in wet and muddy conditions?

Really well.

I've worn them across a mix of terrains including:

  • Muddy ground
  • Wet grass
  • Soft tracks
  • Hard-packed paths
  • Farm environments
  • Outdoor attractions and family days out

They handled all of it confidently and kept my feet dry throughout.

Living in the UK means waterproof footwear gets tested properly and these boots definitely stood up to the challenge.

What do you like most about the Ariat Skyline Boot?

The comfort is the standout feature.

Alongside that, I really like the styling. The colourway works with lots of different outdoor clothing, making them practical without feeling overly rugged.

One detail I particularly appreciated was the blue stitching. Women's outdoor footwear often defaults to pink accents and it was refreshing to see something different.

The laces are also worth mentioning. They feel durable, stay tied and don't constantly need adjusting throughout the day.

Are the Ariat Skyline Boots easy to put on and take off?

Yes.

You only need to loosen the upper section of the laces and they slip on and off easily.

It's a small detail but one that makes a difference when you're heading out in a hurry or taking muddy boots off at the door after a long walk.

Are there any downsides?

The only real drawback I found was warmth.

These boots are excellent during cooler months but can feel quite warm during the height of summer, particularly on longer walks.

That said, switching to a lighter, more breathable sock made a noticeable difference and improved comfort in warmer temperatures.

It's not a deal-breaker, but it's worth knowing if you're specifically looking for a lightweight summer walking boot.

Are the Ariat Skyline Boots worth the money?

In my opinion, yes.

At around £139.95 they're not the cheapest walking boots available. However, they feel exceptionally well made and have performed consistently across a range of conditions.

When you consider the comfort, waterproof protection and overall quality, the price feels justified.

I'd rather invest once in a pair of boots that lasts than replace cheaper alternatives more frequently.

Would you recommend the Ariat Skyline Boot?

Absolutely.

They've become a reliable choice for everything from regular weekly walks to family days outdoors.

If you're looking for a comfortable, waterproof boot that performs well in British weather and feels supportive from day one, they're well worth considering.

Would you continue to wear them?

Definitely.

Walking is part of my weekly routine, so they get plenty of use and they've earned a permanent place in my footwear collection.

Final Verdict: Who Should Buy the Ariat Skyline Boot?

The Ariat Skyline Boot is ideal for:

  • Keen walkers
  • Horse owners
  • Yard managers
  • Dog walkers
  • Outdoor enthusiasts
  • Rural professionals
  • Parents and spectators standing on sports fields in winter
  • Anyone spending long periods outdoors in wet conditions

If comfort, waterproof protection and long-term durability are your priorities, these boots deliver on all three.

For year-round countryside use, they've proven to be a dependable addition to my outdoor wardrobe.
