Premier Equine Port Mouth Weymouth Set Bit

Specifically designed for use with a double bridle, this Weymouth and Bradoon set is often worn for showing or dressage at Elementary or above providing the tools needed to refine aids and encourage horses to sit back on their hocks while performing more advanced movements. The loose ring, single joint Bradoon allows for more movement than a fixed cheek alternative, ideal for horses that are prone to leaning or fixing. The straight bar design of the Weymouth acts on the bars of the mouth while the port allows more room for the tongue. This set requires the use of two sets of reins, one attached to each bit and should only be used by experienced riders on horses who already perform well In a Snaffle. A curb chain is also included for use with the Weymouth. Lip strap not included.

Ways to measure for a bit.

  1. Measure the horse’s bit that you are currently using, to do this measure the length of the mouthpiece from the inside edge to the opposite inside edge.
  2. If you are measuring your horses’ mouth for the first time to determine the length of bit that they need you can do this with a piece of string marking spots on the string then measuring against a ruler, fabric tape, etc if your horse will cooperate.
  3. Once you have the length of bit that you need you might need to add ¼ to ½ to the length depending on what bit your selecting

Measurements are approximate.
