A great option for horses with fleshy lips or a short smile, the Premier Equine Loose Ring Sleeved Snaffle features sleeved edges covering the ring joints. This design provides extra protection and prevents the pinching that is often a side effect when using a traditional loose ring bit, whilst still providing the freedom of movement and action associated with the loose ring design. This bit is a great option for horses who lean or fix and respond well to a more movable contact as well as being a good option for more novice riders. Made from stainless steel, the bit is durable, tasteless and will not rust.

Ways to measure for a bit.

1. Measure the horse’s bit that you are currently using, to do this measure the length of the mouthpiece from the inside edge to the opposite inside edge.
2. If you are measuring your horses’ mouth for the first time to determine the length of bit that they need you can do this with a piece of string marking spots on the string then measuring against a ruler, fabric tape, etc if your horse will cooperate.
3. Once you have the length of bit that you need you might need to add ¼ to ½ to the length depending on what bit your selecting
