Full cheek snaffles are helpful for inexperienced or young horses as they assist with steering. The bit shanks create a gentle pressure against the horse's cheek when turning, providing subtle guidance. Additionally, they prevent the bit from being pulled through the horse’s mouth. The double-jointed, sturdy rubber mouthpiece with a copper lozenge offers increased comfort for the horse. The copper lozenges help spread pressure over the tongue and bars of the mouth, promoting mouthing and contact while preventing pinching and reducing the nutcracker action of a single-jointed bit. This type of snaffle is suitable for horses that require additional braking power but may be sensitive in the mouth.
