This is totally amazing! Have never used a product like it, it is 100% effective on all the stains we had, it works in seconds and leaves no residue after use at all, doesn’t foam up. Just spray and wipe with a damp cloth or sponge.
Tell us a bit about you and your horse:
My horse is a Grey Zangersheide Mare, who loves to sleep in her own poo! She is a show jumper that likes to do a bit of eventing on the side as well as lots of hacking.
What types of stains are you dealing with most often?
Bing predominantly lives out but is stabled during severe weather and at stay-away shows. That’s when this product really proved its worth - facing an early dressage test and a very dirty horse, it took just minutes to get her looking show-ready. It works brilliantly on both grass and poo stains.
When and why do you usually reach for a stain remover?
At stay away shows when no access to bath her, in a rush to take her training or on colder days when a bath just isn’t viable.
How well did the stain remover work on your horse's coat?
Amazing – immediately removed ALL the stains It left no residue and didn’t foam up. It is the best we have ever tried. Her coat is thin and soft and the product just glided the dirt away.
Is the Supreme Products Stain Remover Spray easy to use?
So easy. I just sprayed directly onto the stain – wiped off with a damp sponge – no need to rinse at all!
Would you use this stain remover again or recommend it to other riders?
Yes yes yes! Great value with immediate results would highly recommend. This will be my go to product from now on, I'm grateful to have found it.
Any tips on how to use the horse stain remover effectively?
If your horse isn't a fan of sprays like ours, you can simply spray the product onto a sponge instead of onto the horse and it works just as effectively. Simply dampen the sponge with water to help it glide over the coat and lift the dirt away.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Five stars without a doubt. This product really does work! The Stainmaster is perfect for those niggling poop or stubborn grass stains that surface the morning of a show! It doesn't leave any residue marks and shifts even the most stubborn stains within as a little as a couple of minutes!
Tell us a bit about you and your horse:
We use it mainly on our traditional coloured cob who has a lot of white on him. He is regularly out inhand showing, so this is a staple in our grooming kit to ensure he is stain free! I have also found this works great on my other horses who are bay, chesnut and piebald. It even works on my skewbald donkey too. No stain is sticking around long here!
What types of stains are you dealing with most often?
What stains aren't we dealing with?! My horses live out 24/7 in the summer, so I'm often having to deal with grass stains on hocks and also on cob feather. My horses aren't fussy where they sleep, so again, an engrained poo stain isn't uncommon either!
When and why do you usually reach for a stain remover?
I have no problems with my horses having 'off time' and occasionally looking feral! However, when show season starts or they need to look their best, I like to make sure their whites stay bright! I usually reach for the stain remover the morning of a show/competition, and also in the colder months when a bath perhaps isn't suitable. I don't like to bath too often, so it's a perfect product for touchups and to get rid of stains all year round.
How well did the stain remover work on your horse's coat?
Brilliantly! Whether the coat is clipped, coarse, long, or silky smooth, this product has always managed to remove stains. Even our donkeywith his wiry, double coat that attracts dust gets great results. And after it took me four days to catch him, those stains had really set in!
Is the Carr & Day & Martin Stainmaster easy to use on horse stains?
It really is. I've found I can spray it on a wet or dry coat and it does it's job. I spray on the stain and leave for a minute to 'soak'. I then use a damp cloth and really work the product into the stain. I then leave for another minute and wipe away the residue with a clean, damp cloth. Within minutes, the stain is gone and the coat gives that freshly washed feeling without being excessively wet.
Would you use this stain remover again or recommend it to other riders?
Absolutely, I have used this product since owning hairy cobs (2018), and I haven't looked back. I have tried other stain removers in the past and just haven't found them to work as effectively as the Stainmaster. As mentioned already, it works on my varying herd with ease! I personally wouldn't buy anything else.
Any tips on how to use the horse stain remover effectively?
Make sure you allow the product contact time. It's easy when you're in a rush and need quick removal to skip this stage but it will be quicker in the long run to remove the stain and give a better result.

I rate it four stars, it worked really well to remove the majority of the stain but it wasn’t 100% gone which is why I didn’t rate it five stars.
Tell us a bit about you and your horse:
She is a grey who gets super dirty! We event together so that means I need her to be super clean for competing, which isn’t always easy with a grey.
What types of stains are you dealing with most often?
I deal with stable stains the most, I can almost guarantee she will have a new one every morning.
When and why do you usually reach for a stain remover?
I usually use a stain remover for those last minute stains before a competition, it’s more reliable and convenient than bathing as I can guarantee she will be dry in time and it’s no where near as much hassle! I also like to use stain removers before lessons or clinics, it saves having to do a full bath but also means she can still look presentable.
How well did the stain remover work on your horse's coat?
The stain remover was very effective on my horses coat. The stain wasn’t 100% gone after one use but I think if I had repeated the process I could have removed it fully. But it still did a great job making the stain much less visible, plus it was also super quick and easy to use!
Is Barrier Grass and Stable Stain Remover easy to use?
Yes it was very easy, I just had to spray the stain, wipe over with a damp cloth then just go over with a dry cloth and the stain has began to disappear. It is much more convenient than bathing, it took half the time!
Would you use this stain remover again or recommend it to other riders?
Yes I will definitely use this stain remover again, it will be super useful for last minute stains. And I would 100% recommend it to other riders who own greys! It’s by far the best stain remover I have tried as it was very effective.
Any tips on how to use the horse stain remover effectively?
I just followed the simple steps on the back of the bottle and it worked perfectly.

Tell us a bit about you and your horse:
Jimmy, is my beautiful grey IDXTB. We enjoy a variety of activities together, including bloodhounding, eventing and hacking! When I first bought him, he had dark dapples (great for hiding stains) but as he's grown older he's nearly completely white!
What types of stains are you dealing with most often?
The most common stains I deal with are stable stains, grass stains and, unfortunately, poo stains. Grey horses tend to show dirt and stains more prominently, so it’s important for me to keep Jimmy looking his best before they set in!
When and why do you usually reach for a stain remover?
I typically reach for a stain remover on the morning of a show. It’s essential to clean him up before a show to make sure he looks presentable. It's also ideal when I've arrived at a show and he might have had a poo in the lorry and gained a poo stain!
How well did the stain remover work on your horse's coat?
I found that the stain remover worked exceptionally well on Jimmy's coat. After applying the product, rubbing it in and leaving for 5 minutes, the stains lifted easily.
Is NAF Muck Off easy to use?
Yes, the stain remover was straightforward to use. I applied it directly to the stained areas, gently massaging it in before using a damp sponge to remove. It didn’t require much effort, and I liked that it didn’t take long to see results.
Would you use this stain remover again or recommend it to other riders?
Absolutely! I would recommend this stain remover to other riders. Its effectiveness, ease of use and the fact that it left Jimmy's coat looking clean makes it a great addition to my grooming supplies.
Any tips on how to use the horse stain remover effectively?
A couple of tips: First, make sure you really massage the product into the stained area. This helps it penetrate better. Second, allow the product to sit for 5 minutes minute for optimal results.

⭐⭐⭐
I’ve given this product a 3-star rating. While it worked fairly well on some lighter stains, I didn’t find it quite as effective as other products I’ve used, such as those from Supreme Products and Cowboy Magic. I also found that it foamed up quite a bit, so I felt the need to wipe off the residue afterwards to avoid leaving anything on the coat. It’s not a bad product, but just didn’t perform consistently across different types of stains for us.
Tell us a bit about you and your horse:
I tested this spray on two of our ponies. Flora is our miniature grey Shetland who occasionally goes to shows as a companion pony. Sammy is our 12hh mini piebald cob (more grey than black!) and a magnet for dirt. He’s my youngest daughter’s riding pony and also attends local shows from time to time.
What types of stains are you dealing with most often?
Both ponies live out 24/7, so we mainly battle with grass stains and some particularly tricky poo stains especially from Flora, who tends to get them down the backs of her legs.
When and why do you usually reach for a stain remover?
I don’t use stain removers daily, but they’re part of our show prep mainly used after turnout on the morning of a show or occasionally before a training session when there’s no time for a full bath.
How well did the stain remover work on your horse's coat?
On Sammy, our piebald pony, the spray worked nicely - his stains weren’t too bad and they lifted well, although I did need to rinse off some foamy residue. On Flora, who is fully grey and has a thicker coat, unfortunately, it didn’t shift the deeper stains, so I had to fall back on shampoo and a hose.
Is Showsheen Stain Remover Off easy to use?
Yes, it sprays on easily and is straightforward to apply. However, it does foam more than others I’ve tried, so I prefer to wipe or rinse it off afterwards rather than leave it on.
Would you use this stain remover again or recommend it to other riders?
I will finish the bottle, but I don’t think I would repurchase. While it has some positive aspects, I found other products better suited to our needs. I wouldn’t recommend it unless the horse’s staining is very light or occasional – unlike our mud monsters!
Any tips on how to use the horse stain remover effectively?
Be prepared to rinse or wipe off the foam for the best results, especially if your horse has a sensitive coat or heavier staining.
What's the best stain remover for horses?
Each of the stain removers we tested had its own strengths: Supreme Products impressed with instant results, Carr & Day & Martin proved incredibly versatile, while Barrier and NAF offered reliable solutions for everyday use. Absorbine ShowSheen may suit lighter stains, but fell short for tougher jobs. Ultimately, the best stain remover depends on your horse's coat type, typical stains and how quickly you need results.
