Shires Roller Mouth Dee Bit
Great for horses who prefer a more fixed contact, the Eggbutt style fixed rings on the Shires Roller Mouth Dee Bit provides stability while also preventing the bit form being pulled through the mouth and preventing pinching of the lips and corners of the mouth that can be found when using a loose ring alternative. The alternating Copper rollers features on the single joint mouthpiece provide the horse with both a warming sensation and something for the horse to mouth, promoting a softness in the contact and preventing the horse from taking hold of the bit. The Stainless Steel used makes the bit easy to clean and maintain and ensures it will not tarnish or rust over time. Ideal for all levels of horse and rider.

To measure your horse for a bit:
- Having first selected the correct height stand in front of your horse (for safety, with your face turned to one side) and with your hands hold a contact with the bit. Approximately 5mm (1/4 inch) on each side is correct (a little more can be allowed for loose rings). As a guide there should be space to fit one finger between the horse's lips and bits ends on both sides.
There should be adequate space on both sides to clear the lips to prevent pinching but not so much that the bit can slide across the mouth.
- Remove the bit and lay it flat on a firm surface. Measure between the two corners of the bit, inside to inside (C) to find the width size of your horse's mouth.
