Who and what is the product for?

I chose the Barbour Beadnell Wax Jacket because I love the classic country look of a Barbour wax coat. It’s the perfect weight and style for me and can be worn across seasons. It’s ideal for walking my dog, Olive, especially as the weather turns, providing a practical and stylish outer layer.

Initial thoughts on the product:

When I first tried it on, I immediately loved how comfortable and flattering it felt. The waxed outer and checked accents have that signature Barbour look. The jacket feels substantial without being heavy, the handwarmer pockets are a delight and the lining keeps your fingers warm on cold days.

What did you like about the product?

• Pockets galore: There’s space for treats, poo bags, phone, ball, lead and still room for your hands without looking bulky.

• Layering-friendly: I sized up so I could layer a fleece or gilet underneath. Perfect for autumn through winter.

• Collar popper: Handy for windy days, keeping the collar snug around your neck.

What did you dislike about the product?

Not much! The wax can pick up debris, so I avoid leaving it next to the dog after walks, but this adds character. Like all wax jackets, it requires occasional re-waxing. I also tried to open a beer bottle with the zip... No luck there, but it was worth a try!

What size did you receive? Does it fit well and was it true to size?

I got a size 10 and wanted some extra room for layering. It’s spacious enough for a fleece and gilet underneath but still flattering from all angles.

Was it comfortable, warm, waterproof, etc.?

It becomes more comfortable with wear, softening and molding to you. Excellent for wind and light rain, though not a downpour-proof jacket. The weight is ideal for layering and seasonal transitions.

Would you continue to use this product?

Absolutely! It’s become my go-to jacket. Practical, classic and comfortable, I’ll be wearing it for years to come, and it will only improve with age.
