Tried & tested by Sarah from Dinky Ponies, here's her review of Le Chameau Wellington Boots
If, like me, you spend most of your day outside on the yard in all sorts of weather, a good pair of wellies is absolutely essential. I’ve put the Le Chameau Ladies Vierzonord Neoprene Lined Wellies to the test during my daily equestrian chores and here’s how they held up.
Who and what is the product for?
These Le Chameau boots are ideal for anyone who lives the yard life: horse owners, grooms, dog walkers, or anyone who spends hours outdoors in wet, muddy conditions. They’re made for people who need practicality and comfort, but don’t want to compromise on quality or style.
First Impressions:
I love Le Chameau wellies - they are premium quality whilst being robust and durable. I've had a number of them in the past and wear them to the ground literally.
Likes:
I’ve been a Le Chameau fan for years, and straight out of the box, these boots felt as good as I expected. They’ve got that premium look, but more importantly, they feel solid and well-made. They’re not clunky or heavy either, which is a big plus when you’re wearing them all day. Plus they keep my toes toasty and warm during the colder months.
What I Loved
-
Lightweight and comfortable, even after hours on my feet.
-
Lovely and warm, thanks to the neoprene lining – perfect for chilly mornings and long winter days.
-
The adjustable calf buckle means they don’t flap about, which is ideal for slim legs like mine.
Dislikes:
In the warmer months, they can get a bit toasty. It’s not a deal-breaker, but worth knowing if you wear wellies all year round like I do. The jersey lined Giverny or Vierzons could be better options for those that get warm easily or like to wear thick socks.
What size did you receive, how does it fit and was it true to size?
Size 6 and they are true to size. They are so comfy to wear, I have long-slim legs and they fit me really well - the buckle on the side allows you to tighten and losen the calf slightly which stops the wellies from slapping the back of my leg.
Key Features That Stand Out
- 4mm neoprene lining – keeps feet warm and comfy
- Waterproof outer that genuinely holds up against deep puddles and muddy gateways
- Adjustable strap at the calf for a tailored fit
- Supportive sole that makes being on your feet all day a lot easier
- A classic, understated design that works just as well on the yard as it does on dog walks
Would you recommend the product?
A hundred times over - yes I would recommend them! I wear these boots almost every day for stable work and they’ve kept my feet warm and dry through constant downpours, muddy fields and frosty mornings. The comfort is genuinely brilliant, no sore feet after a full day on the yard which says a lot.
Would you continue to use the product?
Without hesitation - yes. If you’re on the yard day in, day out, these are the best wellies I’ve ever had.
Is the price point fair?
At £220, these are definitely an investment. But considering how many cheap pairs of wellies I’ve gone through over the years, I’d rather buy one pair that lasts than keep replacing split boots every few months. The quality really does justify the price. They also come with a 2-year warranty* for added peace of mind.
Overall Impression
The Le Chameau Ladies Vierzonord Neoprene Lined Wellies are my go-to boots for yard work. They’re warm, waterproof, comfortable and stylish without being flashy. They make the long, cold, muddy days so much easier and once you’ve worn them, you’ll struggle to go back to anything else.
Pros: Warm, comfortable, waterproof, smart, supportive
Cons: Can get warm in summer
