When should I replace my helmet?
All equestrians know the significance of a secure, undamaged helmet. However, parting with over £100 for a new riding hat can be challenging, especially if you’ve recently invested in one.
Whilst it may be tempting to purchase a second-hand riding hat, this should most certainly be avoided as the hat may have damage that cannot be seen from the exterior (unfortunately not all sellers are as trustworthy as you’d hope). At a minimum, your riding hat should be replaced if:
- you have suffered a fall
- the hat has been dropped, kicked, or taken any other forceful impact
- your hat shows any signs of physical damage

- it does not meet the most recent BETA Equestrian Safety Standards

*Customers will not be eligible for the policy without registering after purchasing their helmet. This can be done by scanning the QR code found in the helmet bag, or via our website, within 14 days.
Helmets must be returned to their original place of purchase. When helmets are returned to the retailer under the scheme, it must be approved by the evoke team before the replacement takes place. You will receive a replacement helmet at 50% of the original purchase price.
Any replacement must be an exact replacement of original purchase - style, colour, size, shape etc. Customers are only eligible for one replacement on the policy at any time. If a like for like replacement is not available, a similar replacement will be offered.
