Tried & tested by our Graphic Designer George, here’s his review of the Toggi Men's Reflector Base Layer.

Who/what is it for?

This is for me to wear during various activities including cycling and other outdoor pursuits. I would like this to provide extra warmth as an under garment.

Initial thoughts on the product

The base layer is comfortable, and the material is soft to the touch with a feel of quality. The design and cut of the top are sophisticated and felt like it will be timeless to wear whilst also being practical.

Likes

I felt a lot warmer wearing this individual piece compared to my usual two layers this would normally be ok but not as good as this. Only having to wear one layer was a real bonus for me as I like to carry as little weight as possible. If I get too warm wearing multiple layers, I get annoyed having to remove and carry the extra clothing. I found even when I did get a little warm, I was not too uncomfortable temperature wise as the vents helped to control and regulate my body temperature. I felt it looked good on and suited me. After washing, the product held its shape and material felt the same.

Dislikes

I found when wearing with the thumb holes it was uncomfortable. I am usually a XL in tops and felt the XL was a large fit, I decided to downsize to an L which may be a factor for the thumb holes not being as comfortable. However, I thought it was important to be wearing against the skin to appreciate the technology of the base layer. Therefore, I chose not to wear them but felt this did not impact on other benefits as this would not be something I would use often.

Would you recommend the product?

Yes, when worn it did not overheat me and the vents and tech in the materials kept me at a consistent temperature, even under a gilet.

Would you continue to use the product?

Yes, I have found this a useful item to use for multiple tasks.

Is the price point fair?

I would say yes, there are cheaper products but not to this quality, having tried and tested the product I would feel comfortable spending this amount.

Was it comfortable/warm/waterproof – etc?

The base layer was indeed warm and comfortable to wear. I washed the car to test the quick drying fabric and it was good as I often mountain bike in the rain.
