Premier Equine Mullen Mouth Pelham Bit

Considered one of the most fundamental Pelhams and is often preferred over rubber or vulcanite Pelhams for horses with small mouths or large tongues. The curved mullen mouthpiece provides ample space for the tongue while ensuring even pressure distribution throughout the mouth. Pelhams are designed to be used with two reins, with one attached to the top ring (snaffle) and the other to the bottom loose ring (curb) for additional leverage when necessary. This bit can also be used with roundings attached to a single rein, allowing the mouthpiece and the curb to come into action simultaneously. The small ring above the curb is designed for a lip strap, which is not essential but is considered correct for showing and helps keep the curb chain flat. Pelhams are particularly suitable for stronger horses that may benefit from the activation of the curb rein, which applies pressure on the bars of the mouth, chin, and poll to encourage correct head carriage.
