Training bits, often used during the breaking and training of a horse, feature keys, also referred to as players, designed to promote mouthing and acceptance of the bit while providing a calming distraction to the horse. The pressure exerted through the mouth remains relatively consistent, with the bit's action primarily affecting the tongue and lips, and some pressure on the bars of the mouth, depending on the size of the horse's tongue. The loose ring design discourages the horse from leaning or fixing on the bit, making it an ideal choice for horses with very soft mouths that prefer simpler mouthpieces, as this bit offers gentle pressure.
