Who are Country & Stable?

Here at C&S  we are one big family! Meet the Country & Stable team who are behind the business and learn all about us.

We are an independent retailer of quality English and European equestrian products, and British country clothing. Founded in the small Market Town of Olney, which is home of the hymn Amazing Grace. It all originally started off in a small market square shop. The company has developed over the years and has grown to move to a large warehouse. As a result this allows us to be proficient in shipping a wide range of premium products straight to your door!

Along with the move, Country & Stable have branched out to the US audience to introduce them to top British and European brands. In 2022 we celebrated our 10 year anniversary which is a tremendous mile stone for the company.

Meet the Country & Stable team!

Our highly knowledgeable team have a dynamic range of skills and are always on hand to help with any queries or advice. Several of us are horse and dog owners and we all have a love for the outdoors. We understand that having the finest quality products from the best brands is essential! We take great pride in delivering exception customer service and would like to introduce you to some of our fabulous team.

 

Management Team

When did you start working at Country & Stable:

One of the OG's and longest standing October 2013 

Your favourite thing about being part of the Country & Stable Team:

Friendly environment with a team that all love who we work for.  No two days are the same in my role which keeps me on my toes and makes everything very interesting. 

Interests and Hobbies:

Looking after my dog (Poppy) and horse (Nev) along with spending time outdoors!

Louise pictured in the middle riding out with colleagues. Louise is considered the Mom of the office and is a great go to for anything and everything.

Interests and Hobbies: 

Dog walking, horse riding, gardening, spending time with family and friends

Warehouse Operation

Jacqui taking in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales with her dogs. Eccentric and loveable, Jacqui is always making us chuckle with her outlandish stories. She enjoys pottering in the garden at home, but is a whippet in the warehouse making sure orders go out quickly.

When did you start working at Country & Stable:

Joined in March 2020

Your favourite thing about being part of the Country & Stable Team:

My favourite part of being in the C & S team is the way everyone cares for each other.

Interests and Hobbies:

My interests are Dog Walking, Gardening. In fact Anything at all outdoors.

Emma's approachable nature has lead her to become our office mental health at work first aider. You can always count on her to lend you a warm friendly ear. 

When did you start working at Country & Stable:

September 2018 and joined the warehouse team in January 2022.

Your favourite thing about being part of the Country & Stable Team:

There is a lot I love about working at Country & Stable, but the stand out for me is the incredible family spirit within the team; although old enough to be half the teams mum, so I do like to look after them!

Interests and Hobbies:

I am a keen florist and In my spare time I enjoy baking and playing music. My weekly home baked treats go down a storm in the office, plus I am known to have Classic FM on in the warehouse to create a chill out vibe on a regular basis.

Product Specialists

Jess riding Chin, a national showjumper. She is the go-to girl if you need any products sorted and will do all she can to accommodate any requests.

Favourite thing about working at C&S is… I love the atmosphere and that we are all like one big family!

Interests and Hobbies:

Baking and working out!

Emelya and her beloved horse Loppy. Traditional English country girl with a passion for eventing and everything horsey. She is the whizz that is in the know about all the latest products and equestrian brands.

December 2019

Your favourite thing about being part of the Country & Stable Team:

We are like a little family, and we all work hard together to make C & S the best!

Interests and Hobbies:

I have three horses myself and compete in Show Jumping and Eventing, so they take up a lot of my time!

Your favourite thing about being part of the Country & Stable Team:

We are a family and really do have great team spirit. I have been lucky to watch Country & Stable grow and evolve into a brilliant company that I am proud to be part of. An extra bonus to the day is when the dogs come into the office for a visit.

Interests and Hobbies:

Family country walks with our beloved dog Archie, swimming, running around after my 3-year-old daughter and reading when I get time.

Niamh riding her stunning Barbie pony Summer. Her passion for fashion enables her to have a good eye for new and up coming trends.

When did you start working at Country & Stable:

November 2022

Your favourite thing about being part of the Country & Stable Team:

It’s a small team which is very friendly and full of laughter. No two days are the same.

Interests and Hobbies:

 I enjoy walking my 2 dogs (Frankie the Frenchie & Otis the cockapoo) with my 2-year-old daughter at sunrise and sunset. I like to spend as much time with my daughter as possible baking, taking her horse riding and getting out and about.

 

Customer Services

Lucy doing what she loves in taking care of everyone's horses. Lucy is the office newbie and has taken everything in her stride. She looks after of all our customers and ensures that all enquiries and return requests are actioned.

Joined the team in March 2022

Your favourite thing about being part of the Country & Stable Team:

I can honestly say I love my job! I get to speak to lots of customers both in the UK and USA and offer advice on lots of different products both in the shop and online. No two days are ever quite the same. The team at C & S all get on so well and are always willing to help each other out if needed. Most of us are horsey in one way or another and its great to b

e in a workplace with so many like minded people who share the same interest and sense of humour. We all have different equestrian backgrounds so if one of us isn’t sure on something you can guarantee there is someone who knows exactly what is needed.

Interests and Hobbies:

Spending time with my big horse Jay and my Shetland pony Nugget, walking with my dogs and family

Gemma with her beautiful horse Dolly. The ultimate Pony Club Mom who brings bounds of energy to the office and always smiling. The jack of all trades who offers a helping hand across the business where needed.

Your favourite thing about being part of the Country & Stable Team:

Love our office atmosphere and spending time with lovely animal mad people with the same interests as me, being paid to be around horsey products and hearing about new products coming out and try not to immediately spend all my wages on them!

Interests and Hobbies:

I am a working mum of three girls, each of which have a pony which keeps me super busy! My two older girls are members of both Pony Club and Riding Club. They show jump and have just started eventing too which as you can imagine seems to take over most of our lives.  I have spent my whole life surrounded with animals. I have always had dogs (currently have two cocker spaniels mother and son). We have a rabbit, two guinea pigs and currently debating whether to invest in a couple of ducks!!

Marketing Team

Sophie works part time and heads up the Marketing team, although not horsey, Sophie brings with her a love for the outdoors plus, 17 years of Marketing experience, channelling her efforts in to supporting and developing the awesome team around her.

Your favourite thing about being part of the Country & Stable Team:

So many reasons to state, but being surrounded by an extremely friendly, enthusiastic, and hardworking people on a daily basis, all working their socks off toward the same goals and outcomes trumps them all.   

Interests and Hobbies:

In addition, to looking after and spending time with my young family, I also love country walks, running (jogging slowly) around the local park. I attend weekly Latin dance classes, plus socialising regularly with friends.

Rachael competing in a Working Hunter class. The plate-spinning organiser who keeps the entire marketing team under control. A little bit crazy, but she keeps the fun alive with her creative content and ideas.

Your favourite thing about being part of the Country & Stable Team:

I really enjoy how close we are as a team, and all strive to meet the same goal in offering the very best for our customers.

Interests and Hobbies:

I am a keen horse rider where I have competed out in the working hunter ring and love the buzz of galloping over the countryside. Although currently, I don’t own a horse, I have many friends who will let me steal theirs to ride, which is lovely. When not in the saddle I can be found up a mountain either on a snowboard or hiking. I love being outdoors on an adventure. When not outside I am a real foodie. From going out to a good restaurant to cooking up some scrumptious meals, I adore it.

Joined September 2020 and has loved every minute!

Your favourite thing about being part of the Country & Stable Team:

The team are wonderful, and we are all very close. The office family are always looking out for one another. Consequently being surrounded by an abundance of amazing equestrian products is a huge perk. However, resisting the temptation to purchase every new LeMieux product that comes in is rather difficult.

Interests and Hobbies:

Mountain climbing with my husband and dog Arnie and going on long hack with my pony called Puzzle.

Neil is the man behind bringing the creative ideas to reality. His graphic skills are second to none and is an integral part of the marketing team!

October 2022

Your favourite thing about being part of the Country & Stable Team:

No two days are the same and I enjoy the challenges of my role and the exciting ideas that the rest of the team suggest. We’re all one big family and everyone helps each other out to create a relaxed and happy working environment.

Interests and Hobbies:

I enjoy walking my dog, Biscuit, and spending time with my family. As a keen cook, you can’t beat having friends and family round for a summer BBQ or a winter roast. My house always seems to need some sort of DIY, and I enjoy the challenges that seem to crop up!
